HomeThe Hunters ROTC Guerillas of World War II and the Philippine Post-war eraApr 23, 2008
The Hunters ROTC Guerillas was formed by very young teen-age college and high school boys in early 1942 as their courageous and patriotic response to the crying need of the hour at that time - fight and get rid of the invading Japanese military forces from Philippine soil.

Going against all odds, these young men and women epitomized and displayed the deep love for country that was prevalent in the Filipino generations of that time, when everyone was looking forward to having a free and democratic country they could call their own, after centuries of foreign domination and rule.

This website seeks to chronicle, no matter how imperfectly and inadequately, the unique and brave deeds of these young and daring men and women; how they succeeded in organizing and growing strong, and dispersing their forces to southern tagalog and central luzon and northern luzon provinces to fight the World War II enemy, in the process showing to other Filipinos and to the world that Filipinos indeed were ready for self-defense and self-rule.

The 50th founding anniversary souvenir program of the Hunters, as well as several books and publications focusing on the Hunters ROTC and their strong and active participation in community and national events all the way to the 21st century, will serve as the baseline foundation of this website, so that their stories can be told to all future generations of Filipinos. Hunters stories are so fascinating that Hunters' descendants have formed themselves into a strong organized unit to keep their parents' stories and legacies alive in the consciousness of the country.

The Hunters ROTC Guerillas were truly one-of-a-kind, so unique that we may never see such an organization again in the history of our country. Their stories are well worth preserving and their values and principles well worth emulating for all time.

Mabuhay ang Hunters ROTC!

Jerry F. Adevoso

Col. Javier, I can be contacted at 2271243 or 09205532790. The Hunters who are still living are already close to their 90s, so any participation from those who are willing to join would be restricted to being part of the audience. Regards, Jerry Adevoso
